Chris Britton's Story

For years Chris and his best friend came to Christian Friendliness (CF), but chose not to fully commit to a new life. Then, one night his best friend was killed by a rival gang member. Chris came back to CF and decided to follow God completely, received a CF Scholarship, and is now set to graduate with his Youth Ministry Degree. Chris plans to reach other youth before it's too late!

Get Involved as a Volunteer

If you are excited about what is happening at CF and have a desire to get involved, we have a place of service for you. Many volunteers are needed in order to help the ministry effectively reach out to low-income kids and teens – our staff members can’t do it alone! Whether you wish to help out weekly or can only make periodic commitments, you are needed. Email or call us to let us know you like to help!!

The following is a list of ministry areas and needs within that area:

Working with kids and teens

  • Tutoring
  • Mentoring a small group
  • Driver for weekly events
  • Teaching a skill (i.e. drama, music, computers, cooking, etc.)
  • Helping during a weekly event (i.e. lead songs, tell a story, help set up or clean up, etc.)

Camp

  • Periodic workdays – both skilled and unskilled labor is needed (i.e. building, wiring, yard work, painting, etc.)
  • Cooking during summer residential camp or for a retreat
  • Bring your group out for a work project – either a one-day, a weekend, or a weeklong project. Housing may be available for those coming to work for an extended period of time.

Administrative

  • Food Pantry worker
  • Monthly mailings
  • Computer help

Other

  • Baking for special events
  • Sending cards or notes to kids
  • Delivering food baskets or Angel Tree gifts at the holidays
  • A talent or skill you may have that is not listed above!
