Welcome to YouthHope
YouthHope is an outreach to low-income, unchurched kids and teens. We pursue the poorest kids in the Quad Cities through our outreaches in housing complexes, schools, and by befriending them in their neighborhoods.
Our outreach consists of three specific efforts. First, street outreach is the heart of what we do. We go into schools, housing complexes, and neighborhoods to pursue kids. We comfort, teach, and support families as we invite them to our youth centers. We provide transportation for hundreds of kids each week. Second, we offer two youth centers, one in Moline, and one in Rock Island. We offer a wholistic approach to developing low-income kids and teens into productive community members. We establish a positive peer culture that creates a safe place for kids to develop. Both centers are strategically located near schools and housing complexes. They have computer labs, basketball courts, climbing walls, games, and staff committed to building healthy relationships. Finally, we have a camp 35 minutes from their urban neighborhoods, Camp Summit, a place for them to retreat from their daily challenges.
Camp Summit is a beautiful camp with an awesome mix of wilderness and full service lodge. Our camp allows low-income kids to have camp experiences outside of their limited environments. The impact camping has on their lives is tremendous. Camp Summit is also available to rent year round for retreats and ministry development. Our camp is licensed for 100 campers. Currently, we have year-round lodging for 50 and areas available for camping and R.V. use for larger groups.
Christian Friendliness, established in 1936, is a very unique, growing and thriving ministry. Check us out and get involved in our exciting life-changing outreach.
